The Ajax DoubleButton is a wireless hold-up device (panic button) for the Ajax security system designed to trigger immediate alarms with advanced protection against accidental presses. It requires both buttons to be pressed simultaneously to activate, and a plastic divider further prevents false alarms.
Key Features and Operation
- Functionality: The primary function is to serve as a hold-up (panic) device, sending an instant alarm to the system users and a security company’s monitoring station. The alarm triggers 24/7, regardless of the system’s security mode.
- Accidental Press Protection: To prevent false alarms, the device features a plastic divider and requires simultaneous pressing of both buttons. Pressing only one button will not activate the alarm.
- Alarm Confirmation: For increased reliability, users can set up an alarm confirmation feature that requires a specific sequence of presses (e.g., a short press followed by a long press, or vice versa) to confirm the alarm is intentional.
- Automation Scenarios: While its main purpose is an alarm, a DoubleButton alarm event can also trigger automation scenarios, such as activating all or specific sirens, closing electric locks, or lowering roller shutters.
- Portability and Installation: The compact device can be carried on a keychain, worn on a neck lanyard, or installed on a surface (like under a desk) using a special Holder mount (sold separately).
- Communication: It uses the encrypted Jeweller radio protocol to communicate with an Ajax Hub or radio signal range extender (compatible with OS Malevich 2.10 and higher), with a line-of-sight range of up to 1300 meters.
